Fresh strawberries are one of the best things about this time of year. And one of the best things to do with fresh strawberries is make strawberry shortcake.
And I make them like any middle class white girl would.
With twinkies.
The awesome little angel food, cream filled treats are perfect for strawberry short cake!
Just slice up the strawberries, add some sugar and mix. Cut a few twinkies in half, top with strawberries and add whipped cream! I love spring!!

What an awesome idea! I bet twinkies taste way better than those gross round dried out angel food cakes that are always sold right next to the strawberries!

I was talkig to a friend of mine once who grew up in the former Soviet Union. I mentioned something about twinkies, and she stopped and looked quizzically at me. I then had to explain the whole concept of "twinky" to her. She thought it was pure craziness!!...... Mmmm. I could go for some of that strawberry shortcake right now!.....

Wow! Beautiful strawberries. I am not really a fan of the fruit but when it's a flavor in an ice cream or as a drink, I'm up for it.
