Best Day Ever - Tuesday

The morning was spent kissing and cuddling but was dampened for a moment when Kevin broke the news that he would have to leave a day early.

His parents came to Vegas with him, and his mom found out that she had to work on Thursday or risk losing a much desired day off in a few weeks.

It was so hard to hear that I had to say goodbye to him a bit earlier than I had anticipated. I knew it would be so hard for him to leave on Thursday, it broke my heart a little knowing he'd leave in less than 24 hours.

But we made the best of the day.

We found a pass under the interstate that was covered in graffiti and took some of the most amazing pictures together. The lighting was perfect and they look so good!

After a few hours of taking pictures together, smiling, kissing and laughing, we went back to my place to begin making dinner.

We both invited his parents and my sister for a wonderful dinner of lasagna, garlic bread and salad. BIG hit, if I do say so myself. It was so yummy.

I like cooking okay, but cooking with Kevin is one of the best things. I've decided. It's so much fun being in the kitchen with him, both of us working on creating something delicious to eat while we sing Disney songs and take a few kissing breaks. It's one of my all time favorite things and I can't wait until we get to do it again.

After dinner, Kevin's parents took us to the strip where we strolled around the Palazzo, the Venetian and the Wynn. I can now add these three casinos to the list of casinos I've been in. It's incredible how much detail goes into the interior of these casinos. It's beautiful.

We dropped off his parents after a while and went back to walk around a bit more. It's so crazy how empty the casinos are at 11pm on a Wednesday. Planet Hollywood looked like it was closed. I've never seen it so abandoned.

The night was wonderful. The perfect ending to a perfect three days.

I can't wait until he's here again. It's going to be amazing. I already know it.

Letters

I've mentioned this before, but I LOVE writing letters.

I don't do it as often as I would like, but I've been making an effort to send at least five letters every month.

It's been so much easier since I bought adorable Hallmark stationary.

I bought these cute cards a few months ago at Wal-Mart. They are the perfect size, are adorable, blank and come with envelopes. Did I mention that there are 50 of them in one box?

And the best part? It only cost $8.00.

I've noticed that there are a bunch of other designs and so I've been a card writing machine so I can justify getting more stationary.

Today, I sat down and I wrote 11 cards to 11 people that I love.

It was so much fun to walk out to the mailbox and shove them all inside and picture the happy faces they'll have on their faces when they check their mail and find something other than bills and junk.

It makes me feel pretty darn happy.

I think I might write a few more once my hand is done cramping. And once I buy more stamps.

And I'm Feelin' Good!

I've been doing really well on my new diet and exercise regime! I've lost 4 pounds in the past 7 days and I'm feeling pretty darn amazing! So tonight, for kicks and giggles, I decided to try on my favorite dress. It has been my favorite dress since I was 213 pounds (my heaviest.) And with every pound I drop, it just keeps looking better. I can't say that with a lot of clothes. Most look baggy and unflattering now that I've lost 40 pounds. But this dress continues to look better and better. I thought I would show you a short timeline of me wearing this dress!

Fall of 2008 - Approximately 210 pounds

April 2010 - Approximately 188 Pounds

Today! - 172 Pounds!

(Isn't my cat so adorable? And wow I need to clean that mirror.)

It's crazy to see the difference. When you lose weight, you see yourself everyday and can't always see the pounds coming off. Looking at pictures really helps you to realize it! I can't wait to try on this dress at my goal of 155 pounds and see how fabulous it looks on me!

I'm feeling pretty awesome right now.

Happy Day

Things that made me smile today.
  • Finding an industrial sized bottle of my favorite salsa in the pantry. 10 calories!
  • My new panties. I kind of like them. Lots.
  • Working out in like 7 layers of goofy looking clothes, just to make the work out more entertaining.
  • Having the house to myself all day long.
  • Walking to the grocery store to get treats for the Natalie and Katie movie night extravaganza.
  • My ex passing me in his car as I walked home. He pulled over and gave me a hug. (While his girlfriend was in the car.)
  • Watching Empire Records for the millionth time tonight with Natalie. She loved it!
  • "SHOPLIFTER!!!"
  • "GURL! You need a tic tac for your pit!"
It's been a great day.

Mom!

I've realized that I don't spend enough time with my mom. We went shopping today and gee whiz I love that woman. She makes me smile. She makes me laugh. She makes me want to pee my pants when I'm riding in the passenger seat when she's driving. Love you mom!

Smiles

There are quite a few things that make me smile:
  • Oreos. They remind me of CJ, which is awesome in and of itself. And they are just so tasty. I am currently dunking a small plate of them in a tiny glass of milk. My cousin Julie has a rule 80/20. If I'm good 80% of the time, I can splurge a little and eat an Oreo or two 20% of the time. These have red cream. They don't taste any different, but the sight looks a little unappetizing.
  • Empire Records. It is my favorite movie at the moment. I swear I've watched it at least 7 times in the past 5 days. I won't get into too much detail, because I plan on posting about it tomorrow. Natalie is coming over for a movie night. She's never seen it and I'm excited to share the love.
  • Family Home Evening. It was combined with the other ward tonight. I must admit, I love this. There are a LOT of guys that I don't know. Such as John Smith. That's not his real name. That's simply what I call him. He bears a quite noticeable resemblance to John Smith from Disney's cartoon. When I told Brooke this on my way out, asking for his real name; she told me that I should tell him what I thought of his appearance. "Right. 'Hey! You bear an uncanny resemblance to the cartoon love interest in Disney's Pocahontas. May I see your pectorals? That will seal the deal.' Ummm... no." They tried to get me to talk to him, but instead I slipped out of FHE and went home. Someday I will find out John's real name. I am determined. (Though... he's shorter than me. And doesn't have nearly as impressive of a jawline.)
I took my camera with me to FHE tonight, figuring that a good group of the people I mention regularly in this blog would be in attendance. I thought I'd help my readers put a name with a face.

Pete. Yup. That's him.

Natalie and Me. I love this girl. She's easily my best in town friend.

Brooke and me. I also love this girl. I can always count on her. ALWAYS makes me smile.

Mecailla and me. I met her through Brooke, and love her to death.

Natalie, Jessica and me. We're very excited about something. Oh so cheesy.

"Da Moose, Da Moose!" AKA how Natalie says hi.

I love these girls. I'm so thankful to have them in my life.
