Summer

As I was growing up, there were a lot of things that I looked forward to when Summer finally came around.

No school. Sleeping in. Waterslides. Trampoline camp-outs.

But one thing that I always loved was our libraries Summer Reading Program.

There were activities and prizes that you could collect if you read books during the Summer.

I'm sure you've noticed that I've been posting about books a lot lately. Something about Summer makes me want to read. I think it's just been something that I've enjoyed since I was young.

And being in a place where I still don't know many people and the heat gets so intense that you don't want to leave the house for fear of heat stroke and dehydration, it's so nice to be able to sit in a comfortably airconditioned house and read a new book.

So I've compiled a list of books that I would like to read this Summer.

Delirium by Lauren Oliver

The Seer and the Sword by Victoria Hanley

The Uglies Trilogy by Scott Westerfeld

The Great Gatsby by F. Scott Fitzgerald

Incarceron by Catherine Fisher

Clockwork Angel by Cassandra Clare

The Hero and the Crown by Robin McKinley

The Book of a Thousand Days by Shannon Hale

Capt. Hook by J.V Hart

Good Omens by Terry Pratchett and Neil Gaiman

The Lightning Thief by Rick Riordan

The Rest Falls Away by Colleen Gleason

It's going to be an awesome Summer!

What are you going to read this Summer? Do you like any of these books? Do you not like any of these books? Are there any other books you'd like to recommend? Let me know!

I enjoyed Clockwork Angel a lot.
I never studied Wuthering Heights or To Kill a Mockingbird at school so I decided to read them in my free time. Both are very good novels.
I'm currently reading Little Women. Not sure if I like it yet or not.

What a great list of books! I'm working on some I'd like to read. I still have a couple in the queue though and I really need to get some school work done. =(

I look forward to your reviews of those books, as many of the titles I'm interested to read.

Can't wait to hear what you think of The Rest Falls Away. My guess is you're going to love it. Is Book of a Thousand Days a reread for you? I liked it a lot, if I'm thinking of the right book.

I liked Delirium and the Uglies series. I don't remember if I liked the book of a thousand days our not, only they I liked her Bayern series better.

I intend to read incarceron this summer too. I read her other series (warrior heir was part of it) and I really liked them so want to try her other series too.

I don't really do reading lists since I tend to read whatever i'm in the mood for (dystopian, romcom, drama, etc) that I have available, and I keep a variety available. :)

Hmm. =/

The only one on that list which I've read is the lightning thief... it was pretty good. I thought the last book in that series was a disappointment though.

I may have to find a few more of these and check them out! ;)

I'm with you on summer reading. I have been reading nonstop since I finished finals. :)

The Great Gatsby is one of my most favorite novels.

I have been reading mostly historical biographies and books about JFK lately, but I'm hoping to find a new series to read. I love series!

At least for the next month and a half, I'm concentrating on reading some travel guides and memoirs about specific places in Europe as I'll be going there in August :) At some point I'm going to fit in a re-read of Harry Potter & the Deathly Hallows, though!

The Uglies series is wonderful! I love the sci-fi aspect of it, and I'm not really a huge sci-fi fan. :) Delirium is on my list too.
