Sleep

Sleep and I have a very intense love/hate relationship.

Dreaming is lovely. Dreaming only happens when you're asleep. I like to dream.

However, I can go to bed at a normal hour and still wake up at 3 in the morning, wide awake, only a few hours of sleep under my belt.

Unfortunately this means that around noon, I start to get sleepy and crave the five hours my body missed feels it deserves.

Now that I'm working, this is especially difficult. I don't want to spend my entire time away from work sleeping or thinking about when I can let myself sleep. That's not a life. Not a fun one anyway.

I've decided that sleep is stupid.

I want the option to sleep, but only to dream good dreams. In all other cases, I want to be able to stay awake and never sleep again.

Sound fair? Good.

The first day on the job went well, by the way.

I'm trying to get along with sleep too. Or rather get along without it - as the case may be.

I've decided it is what it is. So, I just sleep when I sleep and get up when I don't. Sleep is like love. The harder you try the more elusive it gets.

Glad you had a good first day!

I have a hate/hate relationship with sleep. I don't get a thing accomplished when I'm doing it!

So glad your first day went well! Hopefully you will start to find a more consistent sleeping routine now that you have to work - waking up at 3am wide awake would drive me nuts. I know there are a lot of natural sleeping aids out there... maybe one of those could work?

Laughing at sleep is stupid. I'm just starting a love hate relationship with sleep. I can't fall asleep until about five am and then I want to sleep all freakin' day. Sucks.

I kind of have the same problem, but reverse. No matter how early I wake up and how tired I am through the day, I still can't get to sleep until around 1am. It's frustrating!

Glad your first day @ new job went well though :)
